Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, where you are transferred to your lodge. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax or explore the town. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, spotting lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. Dinner and overnight are at a lodge or camp near the park.
Day 3: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park after breakfast. Explore the park’s lush forest, open plains, and lakeshore, famous for tree-climbing lions and flocks of flamingos. Afternoon game viewing is followed by dinner and overnight at a lodge in Karatu or nearby.
Day 4: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro highlands. Upon arrival, embark on an afternoon game drive across the Serengeti plains, spotting lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and herds of wildebeests and zebras. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp in Serengeti.
Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
This full day is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. Begin with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active. After breakfast, enjoy a short rest before continuing with afternoon game viewing. Depending on the season, you may witness river crossings of the Great Migration. Dinner and overnight in Serengeti.
Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a morning game drive in Serengeti, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, enjoy scenic views of the Ngorongoro highlands. Upon arrival, check into your lodge on the crater rim and enjoy the breathtaking panorama. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
After early breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to high concentrations of wildlife including the Big Five, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before ascending to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Ngorongoro – Arusha
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha. You may stop for souvenirs or scenic photos along the way. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your hotel or airport, marking the end of your 8-day Great Migration and Big Five Safari.
