ITINERARY:
Day trekking to Kilimanjaro Mountain
Leave hotel at 8am and drive to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Kilimanjaro. Fill out necessary registration paperwork at the park gate. Start the approx. 3-4 hour walk towards Mandara Hut (2700m). Stop on the way for lunch. Later on in the day you will descend back to Marangu Gate and will be driven back to your hotel in Arusha.
Here on the northern border of Tanzania, the mountain towers majestically over the endless savannah. A day trip takes you to Mandara Hut and back to the front gate. On this trek you will reach the lower camps of Kilimanjaro, immerse yourself in the pristine tropical wilderness and see breathtaking landscapes. Marangu is the trail of the first Kilimanjaro explorers and is home to black and white colobuses that live in the branches of tropical trees that grow along the trail.
